The ladder library.

The walls are walnut from floor to ceiling, and the books are lit from within their shelves, so the library glows before anything else in the room is noticed. A black ladder rides the shelving. A small tree in a black pot is the only thing that rivals the shelves for height.

Clecio Lourenço furnishes it in one warm family: a long mustard sofa, a fringed ochre stool, a speckled rust armchair, a sheepskin chair and a red bench at a black round table. Paintings lean in between. Brass side tables pick up the lamplight.

Most of the coverage is tall, built for the phone, with each chair given its own frame. Four wide views then pull back to show how the reading corner, the work table and the sofa sit in the same room. The oval work table sits at the library end, with bouclé chairs turned toward it.
