Blocks, tree, ball pit.

The walls are built from a child's toy box. Squares, arches and triangles in red, yellow, green and navy form a row of little houses, with shelves of wooden fruit and vegetables at the height of a small hand.

At the other end, Daniela Tavares paints a soft green forest around the walls and grows a wooden tree up through the ceiling. Under it, a ball pit edged in sage. Beside it, round nooks set into the shelving for reading.

A white table on a stone base, ringed by tiny chairs with red feet, finishes the scene. Every frame is wide, so the room is shown as one landscape. The light comes from the glass front, white and even, which keeps the colours flat and clean.
