Bruno Reis and Helena Kallas' Cozinha at CASACOR São Paulo 2024: an ochre kitchen and dining room with a blue-painted table, a cobalt-tiled island and a large wall piece in greens.
The kitchen is painted in two colours that should not get along. Ochre runs across walls, ceiling and joinery, and cobalt answers it on the tiled island, the upholstered chairs, a single deep-blue wall and a shelf of blue glass.
The dining table carries both, its white top brushed with loose blue strokes under a pair of turned wooden bowls. Above it hangs a wide wall piece in green and ochre, which gives the long frames their horizon. Low benches in black steel line the cobalt wall under two disc lights.
A gridded window full of plants lights the sink, and a doorway of tall glazed panels opens onto terracotta pots. The pictures move from the wide room to the glassware, then back. The last frame is a shelf of cobalt glasses, jugs and bowls, the kitchen in miniature.
