A fire in the library.

The walnut runs everywhere, walls, shelves and a coffered ceiling, all in the same grid, so the room feels carved from one block. Every shelf is lit from underneath and the books glow in their rows. Amber is the only colour of the light.

Romário Rodrigues hangs a black fireplace from the ceiling, its logs stacked in the bowl, and sets a carved stone trough of bottles behind it. A long plum velvet sofa curves in front. Behind the shelves, a wine rack climbs in stepped rows.

The rest is a reading collection: a cane chaise, a writing desk with a blue typewriter, a chrome armchair shaped like a car bonnet, a smoked mirror with handwriting on the glass. Every frame is tall.
