Sage on the veranda.

Where the Provence set is soft and old, Trancoso is bright and saturated. Walls are painted pink, turquoise and yellow, the sky is a hard blue, and the sage sofas sit calmly in the middle of all that colour.

The coral table is the thread. Its teardrop shape appears in nearly every frame, on a timber deck over the sea, under a thatched roof with a hammock, beside a pool, and once alone on a white floor with a bowl of lemons and a straw hat.

The light runs through a whole day: midday pools, a sunset on a deck with rattan lanterns, an evening library with a tiled rug. The furniture holds its colour in each. The sage never drifts toward grey or blue, whatever the sky is doing.
