For Schneider Electric and Steck: wall switches, sockets and sensors from the joint range, each photographed close on its wall with the room behind it softly out of focus.
A switch is the smallest object in a room and the one people touch most. These visuals give it the scale of a hero: the plate sharp in the foreground, the living room, bedroom or kitchen it serves blurred behind.
The wall is chosen for each finish. A white plate on rough grey plaster, a walnut plate on veined marble, a bronze plate on pale stone, a cream plate on knotted pine in a cabin. The material behind the switch tells you which room it belongs to.
The frames are square and split almost in half, wall on one side, room on the other, so the series reads as one system across the line. Twelve plates, twelve rooms, one way of looking.
