Irish whiskey, outdoors.

Irish whiskey usually means a pub, wood and low light. This set takes it outdoors. The green bottle stands on a travertine table under palm shadow, with a wedge of cheese, black grapes and a rocks glass. The stone is the same colour as the light.

At dusk it moves to a weathered garden table under strung bulbs, an old fashioned and a highball beside nuts, crackers and olives. Indoors, a marble counter with pears, a copper shaker and a sour poured into a coupe.

The pool frames are the summer version: a striped towel on the deck, a copper mug with mint, blood orange halves and a film camera. It is the mule as a holiday, and the bottle sits in the middle of it as if it came along in the beach bag.
