Chairs as a collection.

The room is a gallery for seats. A cane chaise in black, a leather armchair with its footstool, a rocking chair in pale wood, a pair of white tub chairs: each one gets its own rug and its own patch of floor.

Ana Paula Paolinelli leaves the building raw. The ceiling is stripped back to old plaster and paint, the columns show their brick, and a low lattice of wooden squares runs the length of the space, holding the furniture like a frame.

The red of the Persian rugs warms everything, and a deep white sofa with a round wooden table in front gives the collector somewhere to sit. Long views down the loft show how far the collection runs, from the street windows to the back wall of framed drawings.
