Pullman Vila Olímpia, photographed for Accor floor by floor: a black and white entrance tunnel, long lounges, grey suites, a breakfast counter, the gym and the helipad on the roof.
A business hotel is mostly corridors and rooms that look alike. This shoot looks for the moments that do not: the entrance, wrapped floor to ceiling in black and white line drawing, and the striped floor that pulls the eye straight into the lobby.
Upstairs the palette goes quiet. Grey headboards, oak floors, armchairs turned to the window and the towers of Vila Olímpia outside. The rooms are shot wide and level, with the lamps on so the grey reads warm rather than flat, and two portrait details cut for the phone.
Breakfast is kept to two frames: the long wooden counter with its bread crates, and a close detail of granola jars. Then the gym, and last the helipad, a blue square with a yellow H and the whole city laid out behind it.
