A studio concept: one red coat in Manhattan, seen through a fisheye lens.
New York has been photographed so often that it is hard to see. The concept uses two tools to make it new: one colour and one lens.
The colour is a red coat over black, against the grey and glass of Manhattan. The lens is a fisheye held at pavement height, so the towers lean in and the street curves. She leans on a yellow cab. She stands under the Flatiron, arms wide. She peers out between the fridges of a bodega. She bends into the lens in Times Square at night. In the last frame the city is a blur and only her face is sharp.
The red does the work a logo would: from across a feed, you know every frame belongs to the same story.
