Rosa May Sampaio's Sala de Jantar at CASACOR São Paulo 2024: a brick-walled dining room with red leather chairs, framed palm botanicals, a gold wall panel and oak shelves lit from within.

The walls are clay brick, laid fine, and Rosa May Sampaio hangs them like a gallery: a long gold-leaf panel, a bright abstract in yellow and blue, four palm botanicals in green mounts, two black and white photographs over a carved valet chair.

The table is set for six on red leather chairs, under three glass pendants of different shapes. Oak shelves wrap the corner, lit along every board, holding glassware, a rack of wine, books and small ceramics. A patterned curtain of fruit and leaves frames the window behind.

The tall frames read the shelves one at a time; the wide ones show the table in its room. A striped armchair in green, red and cream waits beside the table for whoever stays after dinner, and the mirror set into the shelving doubles the room and its lamps.
