Albert Ménès herb and spice jars in a concept series: coriander seed, chives, parsley and smoked paprika at Mediterranean tables, with sardines, salmon, salads and a pan of paella.
A spice jar is small and its label smaller. So every frame gives it a dish to stand beside and lets the food carry the colour. Grilled sardines, a pan of paella, salmon on a yellow checked cloth, a prawn salad framed by olive branches: the jar is the full stop at the end of each plate.
The trio pictures set the range out in a line, three jars down a long table with glasses of white and plates already served. One frame goes outdoors, a jar of coriander on weathered wood, olive branches in a white vase and the sea behind.
Paprika gets its own frame, the red jar beside a dark plate of chicken in an orange sauce, the spice in a wooden bowl. The herbs end in motion, parsley falling from a pair of hands onto a green salad, the jar held up in the other.
